BreathScan® tubes contain a reagent based on Akers proprietary Micro Particle Catalyzed (MPC) Biosensor technology, which permits precise, rapid identification of a wide range of medical conditions through biomarkers in breath condensate.
The reactive micro particles are packaged into an ampoule in the tube, which is crushed immediately prior to use, releasing the particles. A colour change is visible if ethyl alcohol is present in the breath condensate passing over these particles.
